Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Zakat Agency Baznas is collaborating with Turkiye through the Turkish Embassy in Indonesia to utilize religious social funds for strategic humanitarian programs.
In a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, Baznas Chairman Sodik Mudjahid said the agency maintains close ties with Turkiye via government bodies and foundations.
"The collaboration between Baznas and Turkiye has been very close, particularly in the areas of humanitarianism, economic empowerment, and social development," he said.
Mudjahid added that the partnership has produced concrete programs including honoring the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Best International Corporate Partner at the 2025 Baznas Awards for supporting economic development initiatives.

The agency has also pursued economic empowerment initiatives with the Turkish government including a boarding school for people with disabilities and halal certification for small businesses.
Mudjahid stated that the agency has conducted humanitarian dialogues with the Turkish Embassy's Religious Attaché in February 2025 to strengthen synergy in improving the welfare of the community.
He also said Baznas actively supported the 2023 Türkiye earthquake response, coordinating with the Turkish Embassy in Indonesia to deliver funds, logistics, blankets, and medicines, while deploying disaster response teams to affected areas.
Furthermore Deputy Chairman of Baznas RI Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi highlighted the importance of continuing empowerment programs specifically within the education sector.

He hopes the synergy will continue to support the optimization of educational scholarship programs and the development of the Baznas Scholar School.
"We sincerely hope this strategic collaboration will continue, especially in facilitating access to education for underprivileged communities," Sa'adi remarked regarding the scholarship program.
Meanwhile the Ambassador of Turkiye to Indonesia Talip Küçükcan expressed his appreciation for the official state institution for managing religious social funds.
He also expressed his readiness to establish multi sectoral cooperation through official institutions under the Turkish government.
These partnerships will involve organizations such as the Turkish Diyanet Vakf (TDV), TKA, Kzlay, and AFAD to further humanitarian goals.
