Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The management of Pangeran Jaya Sumitra Regional Hospital (RSUD) in Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, continues to strive to improve the quality of healthcare services, including in the emergency room (ER).
Head of the hospital's Emergency Room (locally known as IGD) dr. H. Aswin Febria explained that ER operates 24 hours (24/7) as the hospital's frontline.
"The average number of visit of ER is nearly 1,000 patients per month, with a target response time less than five munites from the time the patient arrives," he said at a Public Consultation Forum (FKP) in Kotabaru, Tuesday.
Services are provided based on the level of emergency, regardless of patient's status of insurance.

Kotabaru District has now achieved Universal Health Coverage (UHC), ensuring access to healthcare for all residents.
Some challanges are faced, such as lmited spaces and resources, and deficient referral system. Nevertheless, the hospital continues to make improvements by strengthening service flows, enhancing coordination, and regular monitoring and evaluation.
Regional Secretary of Kotabaru, H Eka Saprudin, said public consultations are part of the regional apparatus' obligation to improve the quality of public services.

“This forum is crucial as a means of evaluating and improving services. Public critism and input must be used as input to improve service quality, especially in health sector, which relates to community's basic needs,” he said.
He also emphasized the importance of friendly, sincere and professional attitudes from healthcare workers in providing services, as well as the need for innovation, such as easily accessible public satisfaction assessment system.
This forum is expected to foster strong synergy between the government, service providers, and the community in a joint effort to improve health standards in Kotabaru.
