Rantau, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani praised the Tapin's Public Service Innovation Program "Sungaiku Bersih dan Sehat" (My River Clean and Healthy).
"Sinovik (public service innovation) My River Clean and Healthy of this district are very good. It should be appreciated and can be replicated by other districts who have sanitation problems concerning open defecation (BABS)," said Puan.
The Minister spoke when received by Regent Tapin Arifin Arpan during her visit to the Tapin's Public Service Innovation exhibition stand on the Real Working Week of Mental Revolution at Manahan Stadium Surakarta, Central Java, Friday (26/8).
Puan also requested that every head of the region in Indonesia be able to create breakthroughs with creatives, innovative and bold public service programs that are widely useful to the public.
"We together with related agencies and community components in Tapin will continue to make breakthroughs of new and beneficial services to the community, including the effort to clean up the Tapin River from the latrines," said Arifin Arpan.
"Sungaiku Bersih dan Sehat program is to encourage people to build sanitation facilities in every home, as well as to empower the community and change their pattern of behavior towards a clean and healthy life," said Regent again.
Persuasive approach to the community, construction of communal latrines that are no longer on the banks of the river, health counseling by medical officers assisted by village officials and Kodim 1010 Rantau has changed the mindset and public habits for the open defecation (BABS) in the river.
On the Tapin government's breakthrough for the public service about the river, it is finally appreciated by the central government to enter TOP 99 SINOVIK 2016.
