Tanah Bumbu paralympic athletes released

Batulicin, South Kalimantan (antaranewsKalsel) - Acting Regional Secretary of Tanah Bumbu District H Erno Rudi Handoko on Monday released a contingent of paralympic athletes who will compete in South Kalimantan Paralimpic Students Week.

At least 27 paralympic athletes of Tanah Bumbu take part in the game held from 10 to 12 July 2017 in Banjarbaru.

Some sports that will be followed consists of athletics, swimming and badminton.

Erno invited all athletes to uphold sportivity at the time of the game.

"Carve the achievement in your field for the good name of Tanah Bumbu. Hopefully this event becomes the first step of our achievement toward national and international level," he said.

Head of Tanah Bumbu Sport and Tourism Agency Nahrul Fajeri through the Head of Sports Section Norhasanah revealed these paralympic athletes are students with disabilities, deaf and blind.

With their limitations they proved their ability in various branches of sport in the previous year.

"Last year's Paralimpic Week we won second place in South Kalimantan. We hope it can be maintained and be better from the previous year, "he said on the sidelines of the release.
