Rantau, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Tapin District Government continues to develop proboscis monkey ecotourism area in the Lokbuntar village, South Tapin, and will take advantage of roads built by the TNI (National Armed Forces).
Vice Regent H Sufian Noor said the development of the ecotourism area measuring 90 hectares in an effort to promote South Kalimantan typical animal (bekantan) conservation to become one of the excellent tourist destinations in Tapin.
"We want the ecotourism area in the future become a tourist and educational destination to know better about the bekantan (proboscis monkeys)," he said.
To support the plan, Tapin administration partnered with PT Antang Gunung Meratus as the developer of the proboscis rescue region.
"We continue to work together with PT AGM for the development of ecotourism," said vice regent again.
Meanwhile, for easier for tourists to get to the tourist area, the government plans to making the best use of road built by TMMD (TNI Integrated Village Development) in 2016.
"We've got the results of the 2016 TMMD from Tatakan village and can be used to get to Lokbuntar village," he said.
TMMD road with a length of 10 km and a width of 20 meters is considered to be potentially used as an access for tourists later.
Tapin district government plans to propose the state budget funds and the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) in 2019 to undertake the TMMD road paving.
"Hopefully in 2018 began working the hardening," Sufian hoped.
