Three survivors successfully rescued, while the two victims who died buried after long enough in the hole,
Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan 3/4 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Two traditional diamond panners dead buried after the hole they dug with their groups collapsed closing the panning hole, Monday.


East Banjarbaru police chief Avan Suligi here on Monday said the two dead buried diamond panners were Rafii (35), who died while trying to be evacuated to the community health center (puskesmas), and Bahrul (49), who died at the scene.

According to the police chief, the landslide which occurred on Monday at around 13:00 was actually buried five prospectors, but the other three survived.

Three prospectors who survived are Mulkani, wounded in the groin, Ridwan wound in the right thigh and the right head temple, and Irham abrasions on the left leg.

"Three survivors successfully rescued, while the two victims who died buried after long enough in the hole," he said.

He said the unfortunate event that happened to a group of miners took place in a panning diamond in the Pumpung village, Sub-district of Cempaka.

He said, the deaths of the miners is a common thing for people around whose mostly activities looking for diamonds.
