Head of South Kalimantan Forestry Agency Hanif Paisol Nurofik on Friday said the central government would pour a large enough budget to develop the potential of forestry in Loksado.
According to him, cinnamon is one of the potential forest plants that have high economic value and become one of the main pillar of the economy of people living in the community forest area.
"The potential of cinnamon in Loksado indeed large enough to improve the welfare of the people and the market demand is still very high," he said.
However, he added, people in Loksado often difficult to obtain high-quality cinnamon, as the market demand, because of season constraint.
During the rainy season farmers can not dry cinnamon they collect, not infrequently difficult to sell, because the quality is pretty low.
Helping these issues, he added, the government will hel them buy the dryer that the quality of cinnamon is maintained, without having plagued by season.
Currently, he added, the government is aggressively developing community forest area, in the hope the local community will keep the forest area from ​​looting.
