Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tiga Roda cement industry PT Indocement Tunggal Perkasa (ITP) Tbk Plant Tarjun restored a damaged bridge of Bamban River in Kelumpang Hilir Subdistrict, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan.


Corporate Social Responsibility Section Head of Indocement Plant Tarjun H Nor Imansyah through a press release on Tuesday said Bamban River bridge has actually been built since 2001 by Indocement.

"After more than 15 years, the condition of the bridge foundation has been decreased, as it is often passed by truckloads of fertilizer and oil palm," he said.

In early December 2016, continued Imansyah, the villagers asked the management of Indocement for the repair.

"Initially, we conducted a survey in December 2016 and in January 2017 a team of Indocement started its work by coordinating with the village of Cantung Kiri Hilir and Sungai Kupang," he said.

Bamban River bridge with a length of 9 meters x 6 meters is connecting the village of Cantung Kiri Hilir and Sungai Kupang. The bridge repair help people and transport flows more smoothly.

Cantung Kiri Hilir Village Head Fitriansyah said Bamban River bridge which was badly damaged making the access of both communities in the two villages hampered.

"The bridge can be said to be severely damaged, because the body of the bridge had dropped to nearly to the bottom of the river and when it rains it can not be passed by the citizens," he said.
