42 People with HIV/AIDS Recorded in Batola

Marabahan, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Community Affairs Assistant of Barito Kuala Regional Secretary H Mawarni said HIV/AIDS in the Barito Kuala (Batola) increasingly showing a tendency to increase.

"By the year 2016, as many as 42 people in Barito Kuala tested positive for HIV/AIDS," said Community Affairs Assistant H Mawarni in Marabahan, Thursday (26/1).

According to him, based on data the deadly disease mostly attacked productive age, including children of school age.

He warned that the case should become a joint vigilance in an effort to maintain and control the spread of HIV/AIDS intensively.

The method, he said, by continuously socializing the danger of HIV/AIDS and how to treat people are known with the disease to people throughout the Batola District.

Separately, Regent Batola H Hasanuddin Murad hoped that joint efforts can provide knowledge, understanding and insight about HIV/AIDS so that the development of the disease transmission can be suppressed.

The World AIDS day in 2017, he said, would be momentum to encourage the growth and development of public awareness to take care of their own health, which began from themselves, their families and the environment, particularly in avoiding the transmission of HIV/AIDS diseases.

In addition, he stated, the public can play a role and participate in supporting various policy measures in preventing and controlling the spread of dangerous diseases and other infectious diseases.
