Kandangan, South Kalimantan, 19/12 (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total of 4,930 residents of South Hulu Sungai get social assistance under the Family Hope Program (PKH) to improve the health and welfare of society.


Regent South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Achmad Fikry in Kandangan said PKH is a program of providing cash to the Very Poor Households (RTSM), based on the terms and conditions determined by carrying out their obligations.

Terms and obligations may include attendance at educational facilities for school-age children, or attendance at health facilities for infants and children or for pregnant women.

In addition to PKH, the local government is also working to alleviate poverty through the provision of beras sejahtera (prosperity rice) , rumah sejahtera (prosperity home), life assurance for the elderly, free education and free medical treatment.

"Through the PKH, I hope that children can continue their education to a higher level," he said.

Head of Social, Manpower, and Transmigration Agency ST Erma said when socialized PKH that total participants here as many as 4,930 spread over 11 sub-districts. They include 1,614 participants for the years 2008 to 2016 and an additional 3,316 participants in 2016.
