Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 9/12 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Chairman of Commission IV South Kalimantan DPRD Yazidie Fauzy expects Banjarbaru Vocational Training Center (BLK) is capable to compete and meet the Asean Economic Community (MEA) challenges, especially in the field of labor.
"Especially now in the era of MEA. If it is not really ready, both in quantity and quality, our workforce could be undermined by foreign workers (TKA)," he said before a comparative study to BLK Jakarta on Friday.
BLK Banjarbaru is expected to produce more skilled and skillful, really qualified workforce, so as to compete and meet the challenges of MEA, he said when answering AntaranewsKalsel.
The computer graduate politician said, the Commission IV which is also in charge of employment deliberately chose BLK Jakarta for a comparative study.
"Because we assume, BLK belonging to the Jakarta provincial government (DKI) is facing substantial challenges as a provider of ready and highly skilled workforce," he said.
In a comparative study, the Commission IV will dig as deeply as possible their training materials, problems and solutions they are doing.
He also hopes, in producing skilled and expertise labor, BLK Banjarbaru to adjust to the needs.
For example, South Kalimantan which consists of 13 districts and cities with four million population requires skilled labor in agriculture in general.
"The need for (agriculture skilled) labor is in line with the Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) 2016-2021, as well as the Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD) for 25 years," he said.
