Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 29/11 (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan is assessed as one of the largest Zenith users if compared to other regions, said Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BBPOM) official.


"Some time ago in Tangerang 42 million Zenith pills caught and planned to be sent to South Kalimantan," said Acting Head of Banjarmasin BBPOM Mahdalena here on Tuesday.

She said the catch has proved that the drug, which license has been revoked in 2009, is very large and a lot demand is in South Kalimantan.

Actually, users of this drugs is not only in South Kalimantan. It could be in other areas as well, but the highest consumption figures for the pill, known as "genie pill," was seen in South Kalimantan.

She said the results of tests performed and the police report showed the level of most users are in the middle to lower.

"Most users of the pill are workers or manual workers and the unemployed," said the woman who wore hijab.

However, she said, the BBPOM in Banjarmasin has formed task force on this issue and has been working with side agencies such as the police.

"BBPOM also continue to conduct investigations and inquiries with the help of police and the military to combat the circulation of the dangerous drugs," he said.
