Martapura, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Regent Banjar Khalilurahman supports the development of Public Forest Park (Tahura) Sultan Adam which lies in the territory of the district.
"We strongly support the action of planting tree seedlings in order to develop Tahura, thus ensuring the nature preservation and sustainability of plants," he said in Martapura, Tuesday.
In between Indonesian Tree Planting Day and National Planting Month 2016 at Kiram Village, he said the planting of 2,000 tree seedlings in forest park area will greatly assist the preservation of nature and useful for the environment.
"The more trees planted, the better the environment in addition to avoid disasters such as floods, landslides and natural disasters due to damaged," he said.
According to the regent, planting trees is alms worship or charity whose reward is kept flowing alms giver will be felt even though the person concerned pass away.
"Planting trees is jariah alms including making public wells, building mosques, making roads or bridges that reward will always be perceived alms giver," he said.
