Rantau, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Two volunteers firefighter in Tapin district died after accident while on duty to extinguish fires at two different locations.


Regent Tapin HM Arifin Arphan in Rantau on Monday said he deeply grieved by the death of two members of the fire brigade (BPK), shortly after being treated at the Hospital of Ulin Banjarmasin.

"I am personally deeply saddened by the death of two members of BPK who crashed to death," he said.

The regent hoped the event to be a valuable lesson for all BPK members and the public to be more careful when performing the task.

"Take care of personal safety when on the scene. Only with complete security tool, you go to rescue," he said.

In addition, regent also reminded that the entire team of the BPK not only pay attention to the speed to come to the scene, but also care about the safety of other road users.

"I hope this incident does not happen again in the future," he hoped.

Previously, the Tapin Board of Fire were mourning, after two BPK volunteers died while performing the noble task.

The volunteers were M Nofriasyal or commonly called Aris of BPK 04 Ikatan Pemuda Djalan Pelita (IPDP) Rantau. He had an accident on the way to the scene of fire in the village of Mandurian, Central Tapin, on Friday, November 17, 2016.

After getting treatment by Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin medical team, Aris passed away on Sunday, November 20, due to severe injuries.

On Saturday, November 19, a fire in the village of Candi Laran RT. 01 South Candi Laras (CLS), which again caused casualties from BPK volunteers.

He was Sarkani (50), a resident of CLS, who died when he wanted to help put out the fire which destroyed a seed warehouse in the village.

He plunged into the river, and at the same time the cable broke and still electrified, also fell into the river and make Sarkani died instantly due to electric shock.
