Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan Antaranews) - Hundreds of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) flocked to enliven Banjarmasin Fair which takes place from 10 to 13 November 2016 at the South Inner Ring Road, just near the flyover.


Mayor Ibnu Sina who opened the event on Thursday said the fair was very important to lift the local SME products.

"A wide range of SME products such as culinary, crafts, and snacks can be introduced here," he said.

Ibnu Sina expected a lot of visitors coming in this first fair. The aim is to introduce "Baiman Culinary Center Banjarmasin".

"The performances here is special because it will be the place of relocation of vendors who used to trade along Jalan A Yani from Km 1 to Km 6," he said.

He targeted the end of 2016 to be able to relocate the street vendors from along the protocol A Yani road, because it was urgent to put the city and traffic flow in order.

Head of Banjarmasin Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Agency Eko Priyo W added after the Banjarmasin Fair, the street vendors will be drawn for the placement in the new location.

"We have recorded a total of 110 street vendors. For who sells fried food, such as martabak, to be placed in the front. (Usage) place (using) a rental system," he explained.
