Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total of 33 schools in Tabalong District are implementing Adiwiyata programs or environmental care school.


"Originally only three schools that implement Adiwiyata program since 2012 and is now increased to 33 schools," explained Head of Monitoring and Recovery of Tabalong Environmental Agency (BLHD) Sam`ani in Adiwiyata school workshops and technical guidance in Tanjung, Tuesday.

The workshop and technical guidance is expected throughout school community can be characters who care about the environment of the school.

This workshop presented keynote speakers from South Kalimantan BLHD, Education Agency, and University of Lambung Mangkurat and attended by representative of PT Pamapersada Ono Karno.

"We also invite NGO environmental activists as a guest speaker at the workshop attended by 50 participants from 25 schools from elementary to high school," said Sam`ani.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Tabalong Abdul Muttalib Sangadji when opening the event said the implementation of the Adiwiyata school is useful in improving efficiency in the school operational activities and the use of various resources.

"Through technical guidance, participants can apply the knowledge gained to create schools that care about the environment," said Sangadji.
