Batulicin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Tanah Bumbu District Health Agency to improve guidance and prevention to the community from mental or psychiatric disorders.


Head of Tanah Bumbu Health Agency H Damrah through Section Chief of Health Services Diky in Batulicinon Saturday said, prevention and training conducted by the Social Agency and community health Center (puskesmas) staff in each sub-district.

"We hope that the people of Tanah Bumbu free from the problem that triggered psychiatric disorder," he said.

Several factors can be the cause of psychiatric disorders, including, congenital genetic or hereditary factors, environmental factors, such as illicit drug use, economic limitations, as well as a breakup or divorce.

To be success in this program, it needs involvement of educators at the school, law enforcement officials, religious leaders and community leaders. All should be jointly determined to prevent the occurrence of negative behavior.

He cited the use of illegal drugs. All law enforcement officials should be able to act firmly against the perpetrators, both users or dealers, till no one becomes a victim.

According to him, illegal drugs is just one factor that causes disorders.

"Not to mention the mental disorder caused by economic factors and the problem of divorce. All it needs special approach and the support of all parties to get over it," he said.

Related to guiding measures done by the Health Agency, it is open to receive direct reports from the public if there are people who experience mental illness to be followed-up.

On the basis of the report, it will send a medical officer from the nearest health center to pick up patients to take treatment to the health center or hospital.

"The patient is free of charge. Patients will also be facilitated by the regional health insurance services in collaboration with the Mental Hospital (RSJ) Sambang Lihum in dealing with mental patients," he said.
