Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana landed in Bengkulu city at 3:15 p.m. local time on Wednesday for a working visit.
Based on a statement received from the Presidential Secretariat here on Wednesday, President Widodo was welcomed by Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Mersyah, commander of the Sriwijaya District Command Major General Hilman Hadi, and Bengkulu Police chief Inspector General Armed Wijaya.
After landing at Fatmawati Airport in Bengkulu, he went to the hotel where he will stay overnight before starting his working visit agenda on Thursday (July 20, 2023).
The President is scheduled to inaugurate the 17.6-km Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung Toll Road in Bengkulu province on Thursday.
The toll road is a part of the Lubuk Linggau-Curup-Bengkulu Toll Road, which spans a total length of 96 kilometers.
According to Bengkulu's provincial secretary, Hamka Sabri, the President will check the public infrastructure there and visit nine districts and one city in the province.

On the first day of his visit, Widodo will go to Bengkulu city and Central Bengkulu district, and on the second day, he will travel to Seluma, South Bengkulu, and Kaur districts.
On the third day, he will visit Kepahiang, Rejang Lebong, and Lebong districts, and on the fourth day, he will head to North Bengkulu and Mukomuko.
In addition to road infrastructure, he will inspect the handling of stunting there.
During his previous working visit to Bengkulu on February 5, 2020, the President had inaugurated the monument of national hero and former first lady, Fatmawati Soekarno, at Simpang Lima Ratu Samban, Bengkulu city.
Meanwhile, Governor Rohidin Mersyah said the local governments of the districts/cities in the province have made preparations to welcome the President.
