Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The South Kalimantan's value of exports and imports in April 2016 decreased by 3.67 percent for exports while imports fell 13.48 percent.


Head of Distribution Statistics of South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Arih Dwi Prasetyo in Banjarbaru on Thursday said the decline in exports and imports is in comparison with March.

"Export in April amounted to 377.34 million US dollars, down compared to March 391.73 million US dollars and imports dropped from 73.77 million US dollars to 63.82 million US dollars," he said.

The export value through the port in April 2016 amounted to 377.34 million US dollars, down 29.47 percent compared to April 2015 amounted to 535.04 million US dollars.

The main contributor to the largest export commodities in South Kalimantan in April 2016 is a group of mineral fuels (HS 27) with a value of 288.97 million US dollars.

"The other two groups namely fats and animal/vegetable oil with a value of 58.09 million US dollars and the group of wood, wood products with a value of 19.52 million US dollars," he said.

According to him, the main export destination countries in April were India with a value of 116.21 million dollars, 81.02 million US dollars China and Japan 34.24 million US dollars.

Meanwhile, import value in April was 63.82 million US dollars, down 13.48 percent over imports in March was recorded 73.77 million US dollars.

The main commodities imported in April was the group consisting of mineral fuels with a value of 55.94 million US dollars, 2.05 million US dollars for fertilizers while chemical products 1.40 million US dollars.

supplier countries namely Singapore imported products with a value of 42.80 million US dollars, South Kores 14.42 million US dollars and 2.71 million US dollars from China.

"South Kalimantan's import-export trade balance in April 2016 showed a positive value because of a surplus of 313.52 million US dollars," he said.
