Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - As the 1000 Self-Sufficient Seed Village program in the level of South Kalimantan Province which is the latest program of the Ministry of Agriculture, then in the Nalui village, Jaro Sub-district, Tabalong, also launched a similar program.


The launching was conducted by the Governor Sahbirin Noor on Thursday. He said the government fully supports Tabalong program to plant 3,000 hectares of paddy fields with production of three times a year.

"The increase of food production would have to be supported by the infrastructure, such as dams and irrigation networks. Therefore, the development plan of Jaro Two Dam should be realized with financial support from provincial and central government," said Sahbirin after the harvest in the Nalui village.

The harvest was done with Regent Tabalong Syakhfiani Anand, Vice Regent Zony Alfianoor, Provincial Military 101/Antasari Commander Colonel Yanuar Adil and other officials.

The governor also donated seedlings to local farmers. Including a surprise in the form of money prize to four farmers who managed to answer questions about the farm.

Regent Syakhfiani Anang said the districts with the nickname "Saraba Kawa Earth" could contribute 100,000 tons of husked paddy (GKG) for food needs in South Kalimantan.
