After two months of breeding and enlargement, Alhamdulillah it coming to fruition. A lot of demand come from local and outside Tabalong collectors,Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Ramah Lingkungan Farmers Group in Masingai II Village, Tabalong, successfully developed a best species tilapia as assistance from PT Adaro Indonesia.
According to Salim, a member of the group, farmers got help with 1,500 fries of best species tilapia (Bogor enhanced tilapia strain) and 30 sires from Adaro.
"After two months of breeding and enlargement, Alhamdulillah it coming to fruition. A lot of demand come from local and outside Tabalong collectors," said Salim in Tanjung Tuesday.
To meet the demand, Salim said, then three new pools added by Adaro, ponds for enlargement and also pond for commercial fishing for visitors.
Seven members of Ramah Lingkungan farmers group alternately keeping ponds for fish breeding and rearing.
"In addition to making breeding and rearing ponds, we also provide a commercial fishing pond and the income can meet the needs of feed, which reached 20 kilograms per day," said Salim.
Staff Media Relations of PT Adaro Indonesia Isratul Ikhsan said best tilapia seed developed by the farmers group in Masingai II has advantages, among them life pass rate to 90 percent, while the tilapia fry usually only about 60-70 percent.
"Unlike other type of tilapia, tilapia best result of cross genital has its own advantages and has been tested by Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI)," said Isratul.
