Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Dozens of men and women were arrested in a drug raid in Tanjung Berkat Ujung, Teluk Tiram, West Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan provincial capital.


"True, there are 16 people we have secured from the raids," said Banjarmasin City Police Chief Drs Wahyono MH here on Tuesday.

The raids against the place known as the drug-riddled was carried out on Tuesday (15/3) morning.

The 16 perpetrators secured were nine men and seven women. They were immediately loaded onto patrol truck and taken to the City Police headquarters for investigation.

According to Wahyono, three out of 16 people who secured were in the most wanted list (DPO), both of City Police and the South Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda).

In raids and searches, police found some evidence. Among were three packages of crystal methamphetamine and seven weapons.

"We will continue this operation to areas considered rampant of drug trafficking. In a short time we will raid," he said.

He said the raids in the area carried out on the instructions of President Joko Widodo related to state declared drugs emergency.
