Medan, North Sumatra (ANTARA) - Some 16 hotspots of possible forest and plantation fires were detected in North Sumatra on Sunday, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported.
Of the total hotspots, seven were detected in Humbang Hasundutan District, one in Karo, one in South Labuhanbatu, three in North Padang Lawas, one in Central Tapanuli , and three in North Tapanuli.

However, BMKG said that according to the weather forecast rains might likely fall over Langkat, Karo, Dairi, South Deli , Binjai, Simalungun, Nias Islands and surrounding areas on Sunday afternoon.
