Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Four detainees of West Banjarbaru Sector police escaped from custody on Sunday around 04.00 and still in pursuit by officers.


Banjarbaru Police Chief AKBP Harun Yuni Aprin here on Sunday has confirmed the escape of four detainees from sector police cells at dawn on Sunday.

"It is true there were four inmates who escaped by sawing iron railings behind the cell and they are still in the chase," said Chief of Police.

Four detainees who escaped were Agus and Muhammad Rizal. Both are prisoners involved in cases of theft with violence (curas).

Two other detainees, Muhammad Said, a custody case of theft by weighting (curat), and Henry Setyawan, custody case of sharp weapon possession.

"They fled sawed metal bars on the vent. Don't know how the have saw, so we checked picket duty officer that night," he said.

He stressed, if the escape of four detainees was caused by the negligence of the guard, then it certainly will be penalized. But it need examination first.

According to the police chief, the officers who pursuit the four escapers coordinated with the South Kalimantan Regional Police and other resort police.
