"Stop destruction of forests and wildlife trade," said Amalia during the campaign to commemorate Indonesia Primate Day 2016 at View Tower on Jalan Piere Tendan, Banjarmasin on Sunday.
Various communities of environmentalists, such as River Concerned Community (Melingai), Green Forum Community (FKH), students of the University of Lambung Mangkurat and STKIP PGRI Banjarmasin took part in the event.
Their theme was "Stop Forest Destruction and Wildlife Trade". The participants make speeches about the importance of conserving nature and contents.
According to Amalia, forest fires were rampant lately, especially in the island of Kalimantan, and among the victims many animals died as a result of burning.
Meanwhile, animals were also pressured by the settlement that led to conflict as a result many animals were captured, and some have been killed and traded.
"We are very concerned about the forest fires that occur almost every year," said Amalia.
She added that as a result of forest fires, SBI found many different types of animals died roasting.
