Balangan, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - In the middle of rush minimarket across the region, Balangan still consistent with its commitment not to provide investment opportunities for modern retail network entrepreneurs.


Policy not to grant investments permission for modern minimarket in Earth Sanggam issued by Regent H Sefek Effendie while leading Balangan from 2005 until August 13, 2015.

In one occasion, Sefek explained that the policy not to provide investment license to minimarket in Balangan for fear they will turn off the small businesses community.

"The SMEs in Balangan is still in the developing stage. If there is minimarket will turn off their efforts. That's what we avoid," said Sefek while still a regent.

The policy of former number one for about eleven years in Balangan was also no doubt appreciated by the people who depend on the SMEs.

Meanwhile, the Head of Economic Affairs of Balangan Secretariat, Musa Abdullah, viewed the policy by the former regent was indeed very nice to support the economy of communities that depend on SMEs.

One small stall trader Supiani revealed, when the rubber was the main livelihood of the people of Balangan prices incidentally decline drastically. Small-scale retail trade, said Supiani, is one of the best solution for him and other residents.

"We can not imagine what will happen to our small traders if there are many minimarket operating in Balangan certainly will be more suffering. Like the saying had fallen down stairs and broken bones," he said jokingly.
