Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalimantan) - President Joko Widodo together with First Lady Iriana performed Eid al-Adha prayer at the Grand Mosque of Al Karomah, Martapura, Banjar District, along with tens of thousands of Muslims, Thursday morning.


President, who was also accompanied by his several cabinet ministers, arrived at the mosque which located at Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 40 Martapura approximately at 07:25.

Officers conducted a rigorous examination of the tens of thousands of Muslims who want to perform the prayer in the mosque.

Everyone of jamaah, which is split between men and women, must go through a metal detector doors guarded by members of bomb squad of Mobile Brigade South Kalimantan Regional Police.

Eid prayer began at 07.45 led by imam KH Wildan Salman and khatib or preacher KH Khalilurrahman followed by tens of thousands of people from various places in the area.
