Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - PT Adaro Energy, Tbk won an international award at the 2021 Stevie Awards which was organized virtually by the International Bussiness Award, Wednesday (8/12).
Adaro has bestowed a Silver Award for its concern for improving the quality of public health through the Community-Based Total Sanitation (STBM) program.
STBM program succeeded in eradicating 702 illegal latrines along the river and building 5,741 healthy toilets as well as changing people's mindset not to practice open defecation (BABS).
In the awarding ceremony, Adaro Energy's CSR Division Head Okty Damayanti expounded that this award is proof to and the result of a good relationship among all elements.
“This award is proof to the hard work and commitment of the Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation (YABN) team and this is the result of a good collaboration between the company and the local government,” Okty said in her remarks.
“Adaro is honored to receive the award from the Stevie Awards for the STBM program that we run,” she said.
Of the hundreds of companies around the world that submitted their activities to the jury, only 66 companies managed to get awards, one of which was PT Adaro Energy.
Since 2012, Adaro through YABN together with the government of Tabalong District has initiated the Community-Based Total Sanitation (STBM) program and continued to implement the program that brought Tabalong to achieve the first Open Defecation Free (ODF) in Kalimantan.
