Director of the PDAM Kotabaru Noor Ipansyah here on Thursday said the two dams being dredged are Gunung Sari and GunungUlin dams.
"Silting in Gunung Sari dam is about two meters away from the normal conditions. It was allegedly due to dam construction activities at Gunung Bahalang," said Ipansyah.
According to director of PDAM, because the Gunung Sari dam was on the below side of Gunung Bahalang, when floods material in the form of rock and soil from Bahalang swept and made sediment in the reservoir of Gunung Sari.
Besides Gunung Sari, taps company dredging mud on Gunung Ulin, so that the next rainy season the reservoir capacity can be larger.
The dredging that using heavy equipment hired from contractors in Kotabaru. said Ipansyah, as now being in dry season when soil at the base of the reservoir can be seen. It became a good opportunity for taps company to perform dredging or normalization.
