The tiung or big specific boat in South Kalimantan was loading with Galam timber when the water passed into on Wednesday (3/6) morning around 03.00.
Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Banjarmasin Water Police Unit (Satpolair) together with emergency teams evacuated the body of a man who allegedly drowned after his tiung sank in the Awang River, North Banjarmasin.


Banjarmasin Satpolair chief AKP Untung Widodo here on Wednesday said the victim who died was identified as Taufik (22), resident of Jl Tembus Perumnas Kayu Tangi Rt.42 No35, North Banjarmasin.

The tiung or big specific boat in South Kalimantan was loading with Galam timber when the water passed into on Wednesday (3/6) morning around 03.00.

Friend of the victim, M Hariyanoor (22), a resident of Palingkau Baru, Murung Kapuas sub-district, Central Kalimantan, rose to the top, while the victim was still down to drain the klotok from water.

When tiung drowning, the victim did not rise to the surface and Hariyanoor dive into klotok try to find but did not find him.

Satpolair assisted by emergency team came to the scene and immediately conduct a search. On Wednesday (3/6) at 10.00, the victim found dead in fully clothed.

Over the incident, Chief Satpolair urged people who live along the river or doing activities on the waters to always be careful. Always wearing a life jacket or vest, if boats, klotok, boarded the ship sinking.
