Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - Two people lost their lives in a landslide that struck Kupang on early Monday, according to the Kupang Disaster Mitigation Office (BPBD).
"The landslide occurred at around 5 a.m. local time near the bank of Liliba River in the RT16/RW04 neighborhood of Tuak Daun Merah Village," Head of BPBD Kupang City Maxi Didok stated here on Monday.
The natural disaster killed PT and his wife, M. Their bodies were retrieved and taken to Leona Hospital, Kupang City, he revealed.

The landslide occurred in a quite steep and perilous place, according to Didok, who was at the scene of the incident when contacted.
When a landslide hit, a large rock rolled down from a higher location and hit the victim's house.
The authorities planned to relocate residents living in the neighborhood on a steep cliff to prevent casualties during the current rainy season that has triggered floods and landslides in several regions across the country.
