Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - South Kalimantan has recorded 85.2 percent or 8,819 patients recovered of a total of 10,348 COVID-19 patients, and the remaining 1,107 people are being treated, and 422 people died.
Based on data from the South Kalimantan Task Force for COVID-19 Handling Acceleration on Wednesday, even though the patient's recovery rate is over 85 percent, the increase of new cases is still occurring.
On that day, the new positive cases increased by 59. They came from Tanah Laut 2, Kotabaru 14, Barito Kuala 1, South Hulu Sungai (HSS) 3, Central Hulu Sungai (HST) 5, Tanah Bumbu 5, and Banjarmasin 29.
On the same day 38 people covered from COVID-19. They came from the quarantines of Kotabaru 6, Barito Kuala 1, Tapin 1, HSS 4, HST 10, North Hulu Sungai (HSU) 2, Tanah Bumbu 5, Banjarmasin 8, and Banjarbaru 1.
Meanwile, there area 423 suspect patients.

To contain the spread of COVID-19, now all districts and cities in South Kalimantan are closely monitoring the implementation of health protocol.
Meanwhile, the municipal government of Banjarmasin has announced that out of a total of 52 urban villages, 51 of them have green zone status.
The city government continues to uphold healt protocol discipline and target all city area to have green zone status by the end of October 2020.
