Martapura, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Banjar District Police (Polres) launched Kampung Tangguh Banua or the Local Tough Village for 14 villages spread across the district.
The program, which aims to break the chain of COVID-19 distribution, especially in BanjarDistrict, launched symbolically by the Banjar Police Chief AKBP Andri Koko Prabowo in Kertak Hanyar Village.
Regional Secretary of Banjar M Hilman welcomed the launch. "Kampung Tangguh Banua has become a pilot village to mobilize and make people aware in the fight, overcome and break the chain of COVID-19 spread," he said.
AKBP Andri Koko Prabowo said, the Banjar Police took the initiative to form Kampung Tangguh Banua in preventing the spread of COVID-19 from the lowest level.
"The goal is that the community have the ability and independence to solve the problems that exist in their own surrounding, especially in tackling the spread of COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
Here, the role of Babinsa ((a village supervisory non-commissioned military officer) and Babinkamtibmas (public order police officer) was very important in the Kampung Tangguh, in addition to working with vlunteers and the village apparatus in breaking the chain of COVID-19 distribution.
