Head of Technical Implementation Unit of the terminal Muhammad Hamdani said, this condition has been going since the beginning of Ramadan due to the new coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak.
"Indeed, all public transport have been temporarily suspended, due to mudik (homebound travel) ban from the central government," he said here on Monday.
Inter-City Inter-Provincial transport (AKAP) for Banjarmasin-Balikpapan-Samarinda (East Kalimantan) or Banjarmasin-Palangkaraya-Sampit (Central Kaliamantan) and other destination have stopped their service since April 24, 2020.
"We did not order to stop or close operation, but the bus companies themselves decided not to operate temporarily," Muhammad Hamdani said.
Meanwhile intercity transportation within the province (AKDP), both to Banua Enam or to Tanah Bumbu and Kotabaru did not operate due to no passengers.
"The fleet of AKDP is at the terminal, but only parking, no service, because there are no passengers," he pointed out.
He assured there is no mudik from the provincial government owned terminal, because supervision was tightened.
"There is a police command post at the terminal, this is to ensure there is no mudik for lebaran (Idul Fitri) through the terminal," he said.
Muhammad Hamdani had no idea when the Km-6 Terminal will resume operation as usual, because all would follow the instruction from the central government related to COVID-19.
"Yes, just wait for the policy from the central government. Now we carry out the rule no passengers mudik from the terminal," he said.
The Km-6 Terminal annually sends tens of thousands of homecoming passengers as well as backflow either to East Kalimantan or Central Kalimantan.
