Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The number of departing passengers through airports in South Kalimantan in February 2014 decreased compared to January 2014, the local Central Statistics Agency (BPS) said.

Air transport passenger in South Kalimantan in February 2014 recorded 138,266 people, down 17.38 percent from 167,345 in January 2014, said the head of the South Kalimantan's BPS Dyan Pramono Effendi in Banjarmasin on Tuesday.

Similarly , when compared with the number of passengers in February 2013, which reached 147,359 people , then in February 2014 it fell 6.17 percent, he said in a press conference at the BPS Office at Jalan KS Tubun (Pekauman) Banjarmasin.

Passengers departing through Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin in February 2014 recorded 131,893, down 17.89 percent compared to January 2014 which reached 160,624 passengers.

The number of air passengers also fell 22.61 percent in Kotabaru's Gusti Syamsir Alam Airport. In contrast, the 
passengers rate at Warukin airport , Tabalong District, and Tanah Bumbu has increased.

In percentage, the biggest increase in Bersujud Airport (260 km east of Banjarmasin ) at 118.62 percent of the 752 
passenges on board in January 2014 to 1,644 in February 2014.

Meanwhile , air passengers coming through the airports in South Kalimantan in February 2014 recorded 140.213, down 20.93 percent compared to 177,326 in January 2014.

Similarly, compared to February 2013, when it recorded 147,030 passengers, then in February 2014 downed 4.64 percent.
