Kotabaru Target All Subdistrict Have Water Installation

Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Kotabaru Cipta Karya Agency targeting all subdistricts in the districthas a standards water management City Subdistrict Installation (IKK) in 2021.

"If every year to build two IKK, then seven years or by 2021 all subdistricts already have CCI , " said Head of Kotabaru Cipta Karya H Akhmad Rivai here on Saturday.

Rivai asserted, in its post-expansion, Kotabaru district has 21 subdistricts, while the number of IKK already built only seven. They are North Pulaulaut, Kelumpang Hilir, North Pamukan, West Pamukan, West Pulaulaut, Sungai Durian, and Kelumpang Hulu.

Rivai previously suggested, to support the development of targets IKK in all subdistricts , the Directorate General of Cipta Karya to send consultants to Kotabaru to conduct research in related needs of Detail Engineering Design (DED) of IKK. 

The research covers , technical planning in the preparation of DED in five subdistricts in Kotabaru, namely South Kelumpang, North Kelumpang, Central Kelumpang , East Pulaulaut and the island of Sebuku.

In the 2014 budget, Kotabaru plans to build two IKK in anticipation of a shortage of clean water in areas not yet served by PDAM. The two districts are West Pulaulaut and Sungai Durian with a funds of Rp14,2 billion.

Currently, most people in the area of Kotabaru still enjoy the water obtained from dug wells, rivers, and ponds that exist in the neighborhood. In fact, Rivai said, they also fetch water for daily use miles from their homes.
