Microhydro Auction for Meratus

Barabai, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Hydro Power Development ( microhidro energy ) in the residential area of ​​the Dayak Meratus in Central Hulu Sungai (HST), South Kalimantan, is currently in the process of the auction.

Coordinator of Lembaga Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Adat or Indigenous empowerment Institute (LPMA) of South Borneo, Juliade in Barabai, the capital of HST on Friday, said the auction conducted by the Ministry of Environment through the Pusat Pengembangan Ekoregion of Development Center of Ecoregion (PPE) South Kalimantan.

"PPE who has the authority to conduct the auction. Early February 2014 it is expected that the process to be completed," he said.

It was the second auction. Previously, November 2013 PPE also conducted the auction process and the development of targeted microhidro energy to be realized in December 2013. However, the first auction process fails.

Microhydro energy development is part of the Forest Village (Hutan Desa) program formed by LPMA South Borneo in the HST and the support of the Kawal Borneo Community Foundation (KBCF) and the Indonesian Environmental Forum (Walhi) South Kalimantan as donors.
