FKH to Green Banjarmasin With Colored Leaves

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews  - Groups of people concerned about the environment, Forum Komunitas Hijau (FKH) or Green Community Forums Banjarmasin, wishes to engage in greening the city with colored leaves trees.

One of tree with colored leaves which easy to grow in this region is croton plant, or Banjarmasin resident know as 

kambat, Akhmad FKH member Arifin said to the press here on Sunday.

According to Arifin, if this still arid Banjarmasin planted with various types of colored leaves, such as croton, it believed to beautify the city just like  Denpasar, Bali. 

With these wishes, the FKH will conduct a mass croton planting in Banjarmasin, particularly in the area of vacant land. Usually between the fence with a ditch which so long just for overgrown weeds.  Then the other land in the road median or location that corresponds with the plant.

He explained, planting trees for reforestation will change arid region, especially along the protocol road between the center of the city towards Syamsudin Noor Airport about 23 kilometers both the left and right of the road.

Previously, FKH planted about 800 seeds of Lukut plants in Jalan Lambung Mangurat and around Siring (embankment) of Piere Tendeaan it merely to create comfortable environment. FKH hs been greening with thousands of nut trees, trambesi and bintaro.

FKH, one organization which has just confirmed its staff by Mayor of Banjarmasin, Haji Muhidin, and the organization's activities to strengthen Banjarmasin as the green city in the country.
