Use Old Cards for Treatment

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - underprivileged citizents in South Kalimantan who have not yet received or recorded in a Social Security Providers (BPJS) card still can use the old health insurance card.

South Kalimantan Regional Secretary Arsyadi here on Monday said that people do not have to worry about a change in the health insurance program of public health insurance (Jamkesmas) to BPJS.

"Who has not been registered on BPJS still can use the old card, either Jamkesmas, Jamkesprov and Jamkesda, or in accordance with the health insurance card is now held by each resident recorded on the program," he said.

Therefore , added Arsyadi , BPJS registration data retrieved from the database of the old card. There is no significant problem, because it just replace the name of the card and in accordance with existing health insurance .

As we know, the government will implement the health insurance system from Jamkesmas to BPJS to all Indonesian 

people, as an effort to improve the quality of people's health.

Through the program, it is expected that all Indonesian citizens will get a guarantee and good health care, in accordance with a predetermined program.

Implementation of the National Health Insurance system in South Kalimantan will be given to about 30 percent of the total population or about 1,130,235 people, made up of ration of BPJS program plus sharing program of South Kalimantan administration and district/City Administration.

Jamkesmas receiver recorded 753.526 people in South Kalimantan, while Askes clients are 297.918 civil servants (PNS) and 26.037 clients from military/police. Then, 25.672 participants of Jamsostek.

"In the early stages, BPJS Program preferred for the Jamkesmas participants, civil servants and military/police and participants of Jamsostek," he said.

Social Security Provider or BPJS is an institution established to organize social security programs in Indonesia under Law No. 40 of 2004 and Act No. 24 of 2011. It is a non-profit legal entity.

Under Law No. 24 of 2011 , BPJS will replace a number of existing social security institutions in Indonesia, namely are PT Askes and PT Jamsostek.

The transformation of PT Askes and PT Jamsostek into BPJS will be gradual. In early 2014, PT Askes will be BPJS Health , later in 2015 PT Jamsostek turn into a Social Security BPJS.
