Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) has succeeded in producing 308 engineers through the Professional Engineer Education Study Program (PPI).


"Alhamdulilah (Thank God) since being given a mandate by the ministry to carry out the Engineer Education Study Program, ULM consistently produces engineers every year," Vice-Rector IV for Planning, Cooperation, and Public Relation Prof Dr. Ir H Yudi Firmanul Arifin in Banjarbaru, Saturday (March 7, 2020).

The 308th engineer graduation was obtained as ULM inaugurated engineers from the PPI of the 2019-2020 academic year at the Grand Dafam Syariah Hotel in Banjarbaru.

Yudi, who represented the ULM Rector Prof Dr. H Sutarto Hadi, hoped the 214th to 308th graduates could demonstrate their capacity in the workforce, especially in the field of engineering.

"Of course we also have to maintain the good reputation of the ULM. Prove it that PPI ULM graduates are competent in their fields," he pointed out..

While the Dean of ULM Faculty of Engineering Dr. Bani Noor Muchamad was very grateful that the mandate of the ministry to carry out PPI in ULM has run well and quite maximal.

"Class IV has graduated 95 who officially holds the title of engineer," he explained.

On the occasion, the Secretary-General of Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) Ir. Teguh Haryono, MBA who attended the event handed over the Engineer Registration certificate (STRI) as a condition to carry out engineering practices in accordance with applicable law.

Among the graduates was the Head of South Kalimantan Public Works and Spatial (PUPR) Agency Ir Roy Rizali Anwar ST, MT, IPU as the first head of PUPR office in the province who obtained the title of the Professional Engineer (IPU) through the engineer competency test at Indonesian Engineers Association (PII).
