Observers: Regent and Mayor Election Should be Eliminated

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - socio-political and social analyst at the University of Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, Prof. Dr. HM Norsanie Darlan MS, PH propose district heads and mayors election in Indonesia should be abolished.

"I submit the proposal at the National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) of Expert Board of the Association of Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI) in Bogor, West Java," he told Antaranews South Kalimantan here on Monday.

The problem, said the envoy of Expert Council of Central Kalimantan ICMI, if elections continued and reviewed in the terms of the pros and cons, it is more harm than good.

"If the elections continued, it did not rule often cause hostility," added Professor at the only and oldest state university in the "Earth Isen Mulang" .

According to him, the current electoral dispute almost every week, as news, either through electronic media and print media.

"The dispute, whether mutual complaints occur or clashed with each other, because each wants to win his support," continued the professor who began a career of petty official (messenger).
