Martapura, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Banjar District Government exploring cooperation with the Czech Republic for a waste management capable of generating renewable energy.

Head of Banjar Public Relations Rahmaddin MY here on Wednesday said that exploration sparked after Regent Banjar Khairul Saleh saw waste management technologies in the Czech Republic.

"Currently the regents are still in the visit to the Czech Republic then came the desire for cooperation in waste management  that is able to generate new sources of energy to  both fuel energy and electricity," he said.

He said the regents who accompanied the Ministry of Environment group visiting the Waste to Energy Plant installation, Zevo- Prague Malesice owned by Prazske SLUZBY, a leading provider of waste management services.

Garbage treatment plant located in Malesice (Prague) is a large incinerator to manage 310,000 tonnes of waste per year and operating at full capacity since 2010.

Bunker volume of 11,000 meter cubic make installation produces heat energy that is sold to the public and the private sector for space heating, water heating by 9.5 MJ per kilogram per year.

Ash from waste used as road pavement material for 75,000 tons per year, fly ash (a mixture of cement production) 6,000 tonnes per year, and iron ore recycling 3,000 tons per year.

"The electrical energy generated from waste treatment process for the entire 65,000 Mega Watt so the potential is very large to support the local electricity," said Rahmaddin quoting regent. *** ***
