Labor Demand Flooded Polytechnic Kotabaru

Kotabaru, 27/5 (Antaranews, South Kalimantan) - Labor demand from large companies started to flood Polytechnic Kotabaru. 

Usually before graduation, said Director of Polytechnic Kotabaru, Ibn Faozi, MIP, here on Monday, it was the companies who said they were ready to receive new employees from Polytechnic alumnus.

Moreover, before the polytechnic stand, Ibnu said, communities and local government always demanding industries to prioritize hiring local sons of the soil or in company.

But the condition now changed, Polytechnicis not able to meet the demand  from industries, who want Polytechnic alumni to be employees.

"90 per cent of polytechnic graduates are absorbed by the labor market, the remaining 10 percent chose to be entrepreneurs," Ibnu said, without mentioning the number of alumni in detail.

This condition would be a chore for the managers of the Polytechnic to disseminate these opportunities. "We hope this opportunity can be made in consideration of the parents whose children recently graduated UN to put it to the Polytechnic Kotabaru," he said.

Polytechnics which was established in July 2003, has experienced a trend increase in interest from its four programs of study, namely, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, and business administration.

In the academic year 2012 recorded 120 new students in the first semester, and in the second semester of 2012 there are an additional 40 new students.

About the cost, he said, people should not worry. Polytechnic provides many scholarships offered to students.

The scholarship program coming from the government, Kopertis XI region, a number of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), and private companies such as PT Indocement Tbk, PT Arutmin Indonesia, and a group of oil palm plantation company PT Smart Tbk.
