Banjarmasin, (Antaranews, South Kalimantan) - The Provincial Government, Association of Oil Palm Business and Regional Police are looking for security solutions of investment in South Kalimantan, particularly for oil palm plantations.
Chairman of the South Kalimantan Association of Palm Oil Businessmen Untung Wiyono Joko said the current oil palm plantation land conflicts with coal mining companies, continued to increase in intensity.
"Conflict of oil palm plantations and mining investment continues to rise, the most vulnerable in the Tanah Bumbu Regency and Tanah Laut," he said after the discussion with the government and the police.
According to him, the growth of palm oil business in the province faces many challenges, including the limited landscape palm land for expansion. In addition, discrepancies in central government policy and local governments in terms of spatial, sectoral ministries also with each other.
Another issue is the overlapping of the licensing plantation and mining impact to the conflict, as both utilize the same land.

Head of the Provincial Plantation Agency Sugian Noorbah said, through this workshop are expected to find a solution that can protect all parties. "So investors are finally coming to the province really get security guarantees to invest until the end," he said.
