Paringin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Balangan district government provides opportunities for modern retailers, such as Alfamart and Indomaret, to open stores here, but on the condition their sphere marketing access to local products.
Regent H Ansharuddin said on Monday that it is part of agreements for those national networks retailers as they open stores in Paringin, the capital of Balangan.
The reason is for local products to be able to compete with other products, especially in its own home.
"The constraints of our local products, namely on marketing problems. Actually, we have stated several times that local products are given the opportunity to market or display their products at Alfamart and Indomaret, according to the agreement on the establishment and permission of the modern retail operation," he said.
However, the regent reminded that local products must pay attention to packaging, product expiration, cleanliness and health, besides having a health permit and passing halal certification.
"The local products that are marketing in modern retailers still seem too minimal, for example, Mandai Krispi, then palm sugar. Surely the role of Sanggam Mart, which has the container and capital and is predicted as the center of local products, must have a maximum role," he said.
"There must be seriousness in efforts to market products and product innovations to be known by the public. Do not let the presence of local product groups only as a place to seek profits," he said
