Yesterday, it was still passable and not too deep down. Now it's almost as high as an adult's chest,Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The natural phenomenon of the road split in Hapingin Village, Batang Alai Utara Sub-district, Central Hulu Sungai, is getting worse. The road which was torn apart then collapsed further dropped to more than one meter on Sunday (2/6).
"Yesterday, it was still passable and not too deep down. Now it's almost as high as an adult's chest," said a local resident, Yuli.
It is estimated that the land collapsed at dawn. Previously on Saturday (1/6), HST Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) said, there had been a shift in land from the zero point to the streets in Hapingin Village.
The distance from residents' houses to the streets is approximately 3 meters with a depth of displacement of approximately 10 meters.
While damage to roads in the village of Hapingin, the length is estimated to reach 60 meters.
However, today road damage continues to extend to the homes of residents. Homes are threatened with collapse.
"A patrol post which was previously safe, also threatened to collapse, because it also hit the split that began to stretch," he said.
The Acting Head of Batang Alai Utara Sub-District Riswandi revealed, his side together with the ranks of the BPBD and the Public Works Agency always monitored the conditions in the field and asked the local residents to remain vigilant in avoiding undesirable things.
"Efforts to improve now cannot be done yet, because the Public Works is still waiting for the land conditions in the location to be truly stable and not to fall again," he said.
He added, cars cannot pass and residents who want to move or go home to Hapingin Village can choose other alternative routes.
"Currently two-wheeled vehicles can still pass but pass through the residents' yard," he said.
