Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Trade Office found many drinks were not suitable for distribution when carrying out sudden inspections of various shopping centers.


The head of the agency Birhasani here on Thursday revealed to find many unsuitable drinks with damaged or dented packaging in a sudden inspection in cooperation with a team of related agencies.

"The dented packaging is feared to endanger consumers, because aluminum packaging is processed with chemicals," he said.

Drink packaging, according to the provisions made of aluminum and inside the wall this packaging has been coated with safety. However, due to dents, it was feared that the walls of the security were damaged, then food or beverages in it come into direct contact with this aluminum material.

In response to this, the agency asked all retailers not to sell and withdraw all these items.

The integrated team consisting of the Trade Agency, the Food and Drug Supervision (BPOM) and Indonesian Consumer Agency (YLKI) Banjarmasin also supervised the shops making Eid al-Fitr parcels.

"Although no food was found that exceeded the expiration date, but at two minimarkets serving parcel orders there were still some food and drinks with damaged packaging," he said.
