Regent Barito Kuala (Batola) Hj Noormiliyani AS received an award in the field of disaster management from the Governor of South Kalimantan H Sahbirin Noor.


The first female regent in South Kalimantan was considered successful in dealing with disasters, especially smoke caused by forest and land fires (karhutla).

The award was handed over on the sidelines of the commemoration ceremony of the National Disaster Preparedness Day (HKBN) and the Preparedness in the Face of the Forest Hazard Disaster on the yard of the Provincial Government office in Banjarbaru, Friday (26/4).

Of the 13 regencies and cities in South Kalimantan, only three districts received the honor, namely Batola, Tabalong and Tanah Bumbu (Tanbu).

In addition to giving appreciation to the regents for their very high response and playing an active role in handling smoke disasters as well as other disasters, the governor also gave awards to a number of agencies, organizations, companies, and individuals who were considered to have contributed to dealing with various forms of disaster.
