Adaro Energy's CSR program won three awards through the 11th international Asia Pacific Annual Global CSR Award event by The Pinnacle Group International April 4 to 5, 2019 in Malaysia.


Adaro Energy CSR Program Manager Ghufron Sholihin said the award was an acknowledgment in the Asia Pacific for the implementation of extraordinary, innovative CSR programs and implemented in the past or present.
   
"The PAUD development program receives a Gold award for the Excellence In Provision of Literacy & Education category," explained Gufron.
     
With Indonesia Heritage Foundation (IHF), Adaro developed the concept of Character Based Holistic Education (PHBK) and began to run massively in 2018 for the next seven years with a target of 650 PAUDs, including 2,000 teachers and 100,000 PAUD students.
   
Adaro also won a silver award in the Best Environmental Excellence Award category (companies with market capitalization more than USD 1 billion).
     
As a mining company Adaro continues to be actively involved in efforts to preserve and reduce the impact of natural damage. Among them working together with the Eco-Learning Camp since 2014, Adaro involved 41 selected people in the operational area in training related to environmental education, culture and technology in Bandung.
     
They have been named as the Green Warriors Adaro who were expected to be able to broaden and spread environmental awareness widely in their respective regions.
     
"They are the ones who then initiated several programs by involving thousands of volunteers," explained Gufron.
     
The programs made by Adaro Green Warriors include the Heritage Program (7 Days for Earth and Biopore Hole), Zhafirah TB waste bank, Eco Youth Camp 2017 and 2019, Tabalong & Balangan Clean Up Day and environmental education for children.
   
This program is expected to be the first step that the community is aware of environmental cleanliness and as an achievement for Tabalong District who has received Adipura awards several times.
     
Including 42 schools in Tabalong and Balangan who won Adiwiyata awards.
     
The third award was won by President Commissioner Adaro Energy Edwin Soeryadjaya in the form of a silver award in the CSR Leadership Awards category (Companies with more than USD 1 billion market capalization) for his leadership in the Adaro Group CSR program.
     
Edwin Soeryadjaya has a philanthropic that deserves to be emulated and involved in several activities that provide many benefits to the community.
   
Together with Adaro, Edwin and other co-founders initiated One to One Grant Match, whose funds reached Rp1.1 trillion were intended for the development of Adaro's program, Turn on Science (Adaro Nyalakan Ilmu) which focuses on the issue of education in Indonesia.
   
In addition to education, Edwin also has a concern for marginalized communities in the eastern part of Indonesia and decent housing.
