Central Hulu Sungai (HST) Library and Archive Agency held a storytelling competition for elementary, junior and high school students of the equivalent in the Murakata Building, Barabai, Tuesday (23/4).


Besides that, a village library competition was held with a total of 58 participants. The competition lasted three days from 23 to 25 April 2019.

Head of the Library and Archives Office Mardiyono said through the story telling competition, every student is required to read more. Therefore, this activity is very positive if it is held continuously, thus it can produce generations and future leaders.

"This is where the forum looks for the seeds and talents of children to be able to develop themselves through telling stories and later representing HST to the provincial level and it is hoped that later it will penetrate the national level," he hoped.

Previously, the organizing committee Hj Nor Asiyah Ariani conveyed, the purpose of the competition was to develop the hobby of reading local story books, love of the culture of the archipelago, especially local culture, love of the nation, and unity.
